Stephen Collins's Bio

Stephen Collins began his career in education in 2007 and has subsequently taught and led in both public and private sectors. Additionally, he has worked in several areas of youth development in program design and nonprofit management. He has been a contractor and carpenter since 2003 and has worked in many different regions of the country in commercial and residential construction. He came to Build Up in 2019 for the opportunity to combine his passions for quality workforce education and youth development. He received his MA in educational anthropology from The University of Northern Arizona in 2012 and continues to examine American culture through the lens of its education system. He resides in Birmingham’s Eastside with his wife and their three sons.
